serious
short term dieting! -When you are
really ready to take the next step in crazy dieting, Body Opus is for you.
It simply works for everyone! The down side of Body opus is that it
is very very (did I mention very) strict. You ingest less than 20
carbohydrates in an entire day of eating. This can leave you a bit low on
energy and sometimes very irritable. The results however, are worth every
minute of it. Now as you can imagine that leaves only protein and fat to
eat so you eat a bunch of fat. Body opus, like the Atkins diet, is
designed to bring your body into a state of ketosis. I do not , however,
eat the same type of foods on a Body Opus diet that you can eat on the
Atkins diet. A bunch of cheese and bacon will never do us much good!
Ketosis means that your liver will begin to convert stored fat into fuel
for your muscles and your brain. Imagine if you only burned fat all day
instead of carbohydrates! Well on this diet that is pretty much what
happens. I am not a strong advocate of eating excessive amounts of dairy
or animal products because they are extremely difficult for your body to
digest but for a week of dieting I think it is ok. Body Opus is
particularly successful when you are resistance and aerobic training
during the week long cycle. Your lean body mass visibly improves each day
you follow the Body Opus plan. There is one tricky part of Body Opus
Dieting, you MUST finish at least 5 of the 7 day cycle or your fat
percentage can easily increase since you may not have maintained a state
of Ketosis long enough to be beneficial. In other words: Do not embark on
the Body Opus or the Atkins diet unless you are committed for the allotted
time period. This is a personal favorite of mine because I get to eat
foods that I normally never touch. Health practitioners and
dieticians alike, argue this diet back and forth as to whether it is
effective or not. I really do not care to argue it with
anyone. I am simply stating that I have personally instructed
and supervised this diet for dozens of clients over the past few years and
it has worked wonders for every one of them. I have yet to see
any ill effects of this diet although if you have any condition relating
to blood sugar levels or heart conditions, please consult your physician
before embarking on any diet that restricts one of the three fuel sources.
NOTE: This diet is not intended as an
eating lifestyle! your body requires carbohydrates, fruits and other
vegetables for normal existence. this is simply a jumpstart to take
a few inches off your waistline in a short amount of time or a program for
preparing for a body building or fitness competition.
